This will enable support to be provided for a number of initiatives. Retailers may be eligible for this grant if they relocate from the outskirts of the city to the main shopping area. Property owners may be eligible if they convert their premises, currently used for retail or hospitality purposes, to a different use that fits the area\u2019s functional profile. You can read more about this under the heading \u2018For which activities can you apply for a transformation grant?\u2019.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>Job profiles\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i2\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>For the streets in the city centre, we have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apeldoorn.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/functieprofielen-binnenstad-apeldoorn.pdf\">job profiles (PDF, 5 MB)<\/a>\u00a0drawn up. Each area has its own unique characteristics. In the role profiles, we set out the desired direction of development and describe the actions we are taking to achieve this. In this way, we are making the city centre more attractive for everyone who lives, works, shops or visits there. The functional profiles have been drawn up in collaboration with the Ginder consultancy, Centrum Management Apeldoorn, local business owners and property owners in the city centre.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i3\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i3\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>For which activities can you apply for a transformation grant?\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i3\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i3\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>You are eligible for the transformation grant in three cases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For the conversion of vacant commercial premises in Zone B to a different use that is in line with the use profile.<\/li>\n<li>For the relocation of retail and hospitality businesses from Zone B to Zone A.<\/li>\n<li>For the relocation of retail and hospitality businesses from Zone C to Zone A.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13215\" src=\"https:\/\/www.apeldoorn.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/transformatiefonds-afbeelding.jpg\" alt=\"Kaart van het centrum van Apeldoorn waarop gebouwen zijn ingekleurd per zone van het Transformatiefonds. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If several complete applications are received on the same day and the maximum budget of \u20ac300,000 is exceeded, the order in which grants are awarded will be determined by a draw.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i5\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i5\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i5\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>Conditions\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i5\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i5\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p><strong>Conditions for converting vacant commercial premises in Zone B to a different use that is in line with the property\u2019s functional profile:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the property in question is an existing retail or catering premises;<\/li>\n<li>construction will commence within 12 months of the grant being awarded;<\/li>\n<li>The building will be handed over no later than 36 months after the start of construction;<\/li>\n<li>the refurbishment will demonstrably improve accessibility for people with disabilities (removal of thresholds, adaptation of toilets, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>this involves a conversion on the ground floor (possibly in combination with a conversion on one of the upper floors);<\/li>\n<li>the transformation is in line with the established job profiles;<\/li>\n<li>The permits required for the works have been granted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conditions for relocating retail and hospitality businesses from Zone B to Zone A, or for relocating retail and hospitality businesses from Zone C to Zone A:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The property in question is an existing retail or catering premises;<\/li>\n<li>The shopkeeper has signed a tenancy or purchase agreement for the new premises within Zone A;<\/li>\n<li>The new location of the shop or catering establishment fits the agreed job profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i6\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i6\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i6\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>Request\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i6\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i6\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>Do you meet the eligibility criteria?
