Where will new homes be built, is there space for businesses or, conversely, for open countryside, and how do we ensure that local amenities are maintained? Following extensive research, discussions, future workshops and collaboration with various stakeholders, a draft \u2018Development Perspective 2050\u2019 is now almost finalised. This sets out the key principles for the future of our region. We would now like to hear from the local authorities about what residents consider important for the region and where, in their view, more or less attention should be focused. We invite residents of the Stedendriehoek region to share their views via an online survey.<\/p>\n<h2>Everything of value close by<\/h2>\n<p>The Stedendriehoek region is a lovely place to live, study, work and enjoy life. We want to keep it that way in the future too. Above all, we\u2019d like young people to stay here or come to live here.\u00a0 A lot will change in the coming years. For example, more homes are needed; our population is ageing; the way we work and travel is changing; and we must take the changing climate into account. This calls for a good balance between housing, work, leisure, accessibility and nature. Water, soil and the landscape form the starting point for this, ensuring that new developments fit in with the surrounding environment. In this way, we are working together to create a region where, even in 2050, it will still be a pleasant place to live, work and enjoy life, and where everything of value remains close at hand.<\/p>\n<h2>Join in now<\/h2>\n<p>In the 2050 Development Plan, we set out the direction for the region\u2019s future development. Naturally, this is about your future. That is why we are inviting everyone to have their say. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a young person or a student, we would love to hear what you consider important for the future of our region. In an online survey, you can indicate, for various topics, where you think more or less attention should be focused. For example, housing, nature, accessibility, leisure, the economy and local amenities. You can also indicate whether you think development should focus primarily on towns, villages and town centres, or rather further out into the countryside.<\/p>\n<h2>Continued<\/h2>\n<p>The results of the study will be shared with local councillors in the Stedendriehoek region and officials from the local authorities, provinces, central government and water boards.
