For example, by volunteering over a long period, performing a heroic act or organising a fundraiser for a good cause. The Municipality of Apeldoorn would like to recognise their achievements and has therefore been presenting an annual youth award to Apeldoorn\u2019s young heroes every year since 2018.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i2\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>When is someone awarded a youth honour?\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i2\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i2\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t\t  <h4>Young people from Apeldoorn may be eligible for a youth award if they:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>who have shown, or continue to show, exceptional dedication to another person or to the Apeldoorn community;<\/li>\n<li>and\/or have performed a heroic deed;<\/li>\n<li>and\/or have shown good initiative;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>What other criteria must the young hero meet?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The young hero lives in Apeldoorn;<\/li>\n<li>At the time of performing the exceptional act, the young hero is between 0 and 20 years old;<\/li>\n<li>The event took place in the year prior to the award ceremony;<\/li>\n<li>When it comes to voluntary work, the selfless and exceptional commitment has not ceased to this day;<\/li>\n<li>This exceptional achievement was not achieved in a (sporting) competition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Register as a young hero<\/h3>\n<p>Anyone aged 21 or over may nominate a young hero for a youth award. The nomination must be confirmed by two other people (who are not family members).<\/p>\n<p>In the form, you can briefly describe the reason for the nomination. If you wish, you can attach a detailed explanation to your online application.<\/p>\n<p>All entries will be assessed by a panel of experts. The panel will focus on two aspects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the uniqueness of the performance;<\/li>\n<li>the role model for other children and young people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What happens after I\u2019ve signed up?<\/h3>\n<p>The entry will be assessed by a special panel of judges.
