Each area has its own unique characteristics. In the functional profiles, we set out the desired direction of development and describe the actions we are taking to achieve this. In this way, we are making the city centre more attractive for everyone who shops, works, lives or stays there. The functional profiles have been drawn up in collaboration with the Ginder consultancy, Centrum Management Apeldoorn, local business owners and property owners in the city centre. These functional profiles provide guidance for the redevelopment of the city centre. They provide guidance for project developers, property owners and (future) business owners. The place where the action is. A lively atmosphere is the norm here, and it\u2019s a great place to go shopping with the whole family. From major chains to smaller independent shops, you\u2019ll find everything here \u2013 there\u2019s something for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here you\u2019ll find all the well-known brands, so you can be sure to find exactly what you\u2019re looking for on your shopping trip. Just a stone\u2019s throw away, visitors to Raadhuisplein, for example, will find lovely terraces and cosy places to have lunch and dine. The latest concept stores and \u2018touch-points\u2019* offer a pleasant surprise. The various beautifully restored fa\u00e7ades of the historic buildings showcase Apeldoorn\u2019s identity. As well as being a lovely place to live, the presence of a multi-storey car park also makes it a place where many shoppers can begin and end their visit to Apeldoorn city centre. The main shopping street is just a stone\u2019s throw away, and the route is lined with an attractive public space and appealing shops and restaurants at street level. In terms of both its appearance and spatial functionality, the area is becoming much more of a place to linger (an urban oasis) than a \u2018hard\u2019 shopping district.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i7\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i7\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i7\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>What Deventerstraat will be like in 2030\u2026\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i7\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i7\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>Residents of Apeldoorn city centre and the immediately adjacent area (north side of the city centre) can do their shopping here thanks to the mix of a supermarket, specialist food shops and chemists. The weekly market is also just a stone\u2019s throw away.<\/p>\n<p>The western section of the street has a greater variety of shops, more in keeping with the character of the Hoofdstraat.<\/p>\n<p>Towards Kerklaan, the character of the area changes; this becomes an extension of Hoofdstraat, with a range of shops catering to leisure activities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i8\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i8\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i8\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>What the four streets and the square will be like in 2030\u2026\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i8\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i8\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>It involves strengthening and refining the current character of the area. It is a unique (and green) part of the city centre where visitors are surprised by a number of distinctive little streets, complemented by the Leienplein. Each street has its own historic and distinctive character. Whilst one is known as Apeldoorn\u2019s \u2018Tasting Street\u2019, another is a lovely spot to sit on a terrace. It is also a distinctive part of the city centre, thanks to the old Town Hall, the Markthal and the contemporary town hall. There\u2019s often something going on at the Markthal. Visitors will find a spacious car park beneath the town hall. With the development of the KPN Hof and the creation of a good link to Hoofdstraat, the area is well connected to its surroundings. The space between the buildings will soon be the domain of pedestrians and cyclists. It is not just for passers-by; the area also invites people to linger, get active and play sport. The area\u2019s character blends in with the green surroundings of Apeldoorn. Shops and businesses located here not only benefit from this character but actually reinforce it. Leisure activities, exercise, sport, health, mindful living and wellbeing are hallmarks of the businesses here. Hoofdstraat-Zuid is a lively and attractive high street, particularly in the future when there will be more train passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Hoofdstraat-Zuid is home to shops, services and catering establishments that cater to the needs of travellers short of time, with a focus on speed and convenience.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t  <\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t  <h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-u1-i14\">\n\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-u1-i14\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-u1-i14\">\n\t\t\t  <span class=\"accordion-toggle\"><\/span>What Stationsstraat will be like in 2030\u2026\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t  <\/h2>\n\t\t  <div id=\"collapse-u1-i14\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-u1-i14\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t  <p>Stationsstraat is home to a mix of businesses. They benefit from the ability to park nearby, load and unload right outside their premises, and the visibility afforded by the flow of traffic. The shops and service providers are visited by people with a specific purpose in mind. It is also a lively residential area. The northern section is home to several cultural attractions, with evening and nightlife venues opposite, extending from Caterplein. The central section will complement the small-scale, cosy hospitality area comprising the four streets and Leienplein, with some residential properties.
