A new residential area is to be developed in the triangle formed by Waterloseweg, Pr. Beatrixlaan and the Apeldoorn\u2013Amersfoort railway line, comprising 150 to 300 social and mid-priced rental homes, surrounded by a green park. This project is being carried out in collaboration with De Goede Woning and De Woonmensen.<\/p>\n

An attractive place to live and spend time<\/h2>\n

The aim is to transform the area into an attractive place to live and work, whilst respecting its historical context. In doing so, we are focusing on enhancing the area\u2019s natural assets, such as the restoration of the Orderbeek, which plays a key role in the city\u2019s green-blue infrastructure. This component, the Beekdal, is a standalone project. The development will be approached in a sustainable and nature-inclusive manner, with the ambitions being further elaborated during the planning process. In addition, we naturally aim to secure broad support for the plans by actively involving the local community in both the planning and implementation phases.<\/p>\n

First information session<\/h2>\n

On Tuesday 18 June, the first information meeting took place, at which we briefed interested parties on the developments at Prinses Beatrixlaan 301. The aim of the evening was to inform local residents about the initial plans and to give them the opportunity to comment on them, ask questions and find out about the next steps and the timetable.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n

Planning<\/h2>\r\n

In 2021, the municipal council approved the proposal for the development of Beatrixlaan 301, including the plans and funding. The old building was demolished in early 2024. In June 2024, we organised an initial information evening and set up a residents\u2019 focus group. Through this group, we gather feedback and discuss the concerns and wishes of the local community. Since then, work has been carried out on the urban development plan, the visual quality plan, the environmental plan, the building development and the design of the public space.<\/p>\n

In the spring of 2025, it became clear that the plans could not be implemented in the short term as originally intended. Due to stricter regulations on nitrogen, it is necessary to implement the current design in phases. The original intention was to build between 150 and 300 social housing units at this site. That ambition remains unchanged. Together with the housing associations De Goede Woning and De Woonmensen, we are now exploring how best to structure this phased approach. After all, the need for housing \u2013 and social housing in particular \u2013 remains high. Our aim remains to eventually build around 300 homes at this site.
