In addition, we are creating a new, separate right-turn lane on Deventerstraat towards Wapenrustlaan. At present, vehicles going straight ahead and those turning right still share the same lane. Under the new arrangement, there will be three lanes: left-turn, straight ahead and right-turn. This will make traffic safer and improve traffic flow. As a result of this change, the current parking bays along the parallel road will be removed.<\/p>\n<p>The image below shows the area where the works are being carried out. We refer to this as phase 1. During this phase, we will construct the right-hand slip road on Deventerstraat and complete the junction with Molenstraat. You can see the work area in the section shaded in red in the image below this text. Traffic can pass the roadworks but cannot turn onto Wapenrustlaan from Deventerstraat. Molenstraat will also be closed to traffic from Deventerstraat during this period. This will be clearly indicated by diversion signs and barriers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In phase 2, we will be replacing the entire surface of the Deventerstraat\u2013Wapenrustlaan junction. We will be carrying out this work in the evenings and at night. The work area is shown in the blue-shaded section of the image below this text. The table below shows on which nights the junction will be partially closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These night-time road closures are necessary to ensure that the junction and the surrounding roads remain as accessible as possible. The red arrows show the directions that will be inaccessible during the works. The green arrows show the directions that will remain accessible during the works.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wapenrustlaan is closed to traffic from all directions from the De Tol junction towards Burgemeester Quarles van Uffordlaan.<\/li>\n<li>The Deventerstraat\u2013Molenstraat junction is completely closed to both cars and cyclists. Traffic can use the Auroralaan\u2013Wapenrustlaan route.<\/li>\n<li>The route from Wapenrustlaan to Deventerstraat (city centre) is closed. Traffic is being diverted from Burgemeester Quarles van Uffordlaan.<\/li>\n<li>The Deventerstraat \u2192 Zutphensestraat section is closed. Traffic is being diverted from Laan van Zevenhuizen.<\/li>\n<li>All other routes (green arrows) will remain accessible.
