They appreciate the peace and quiet and the abundance of greenery. Relations with immediate neighbours are often good, too. People look out for one another and help to keep the street tidy.<\/p>\n<h2>Meeting and support<\/h2>\n<p>What is striking is that many residents are getting on in years. As people get older, loneliness and physical problems become more common. The neighbourhood offers support and a range of activities, but people do not always know how to access them.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic and transport<\/h2>\n<p>Generally speaking, residents find the neighbourhood easy to get to, but they do feel that public transport is lacking. There are alternatives, but not everyone is aware of them. Road safety is also a concern. People sometimes drive too fast. And residents find some junctions dangerous.<\/p>\n<h2>Crime<\/h2>\n<p>Most residents feel safe in the neighbourhood. However, people are vulnerable to cybercrime. It helps if residents are better able to recognise the signs of it.<\/p>\n<h2>Living and outdoor spaces<\/h2>\n<p>Sustainability is an important issue for local residents. Many people have already made their homes more energy-efficient. There are also residents who could do with some help in this regard. The Energiepunt and deA provide information and advice.<\/p>\n<p>In some areas, the outdoor space also requires attention, for example the pavements and green spaces.<\/p>\n<h2>Getting started<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ll be tackling these issues in the coming period. This will ensure that De Sprengen remains a lovely neighbourhood in the future too.<\/p>\n<h2>Agenda<\/h2>\n<p>Five areas will receive particular attention. We are working to create a supportive social environment where people look out for one another. Accessibility and road safety are high on the agenda. We are looking at how we can further improve public safety. Together, we will tackle housing and sustainability. We\u2019re looking into what we can do about this. We\u2019ll be tackling some streets quite soon. Others will take a little longer. Among other things, we\u2019re doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are reducing the speed limit on a section of Sprengenweg. There will also be road narrowings, roundabouts and speed bumps.<\/li>\n<li>Among other things, speed bumps are to be installed on Soerenseweg.<\/li>\n<li>Part of Jachtlaan is being refurbished.<\/li>\n<li>For a number of other streets, we are looking at how speed limits can be reduced as part of major maintenance works. We are taking steps to reduce these. Among other things, we are doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a trial, we\u2019re using temporary road markings and signs to indicate where you\u2019re allowed to park.<\/li>\n<li>The parking space in the green area near the Loohof is being modified.<\/li>\n<li>There is a lot of traffic in the Berkenhove area. That is why we are amending the parking permit scheme for part of Soerenseweg. We are also looking into what else might help.<\/li>\n<li>On Aquamarijnstraat, we are carrying out research into parking pressure and looking at possible measures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Municipality<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Safe junctions<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Some junctions are dangerous because of poor visibility. Sometimes it is also not clear that you are approaching a junction. We are looking at which junctions are affected.
