Relations with neighbours are generally good. However, people do need a good place to meet up. They also need activities that allow them to socialise or play sport together.<\/p>\n<p>There are many people with care needs living in certain streets. For example, in the Gentiaanflats. This requires extra attention.<\/p>\n<h2>Housing and sustainability<\/h2>\n<p>Many homes in Sluisoord and De Mheen are not very well insulated and are not energy-efficient. A great deal has already been done to address this in recent years. However, there is still a lot to be done. The housing associations are working on this. And residents can take steps themselves, with help from the local council.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic and transport<\/h2>\n<p>There are dangerous road junctions in some places. There are also occasional parking problems. Furthermore, people lack access to public transport. Work is being done to address these issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Outdoor space<\/h2>\n<p>Most residents are satisfied with the upkeep of the outdoor areas. There are, however, some areas for improvement. For example, litter on the streets, or a lack of greenery. Some streets are in a state of disrepair. These will be refurbished in the coming years.<\/p>\n<h2>Safety<\/h2>\n<p>Generally speaking, people feel safe in the neighbourhood. However, there are certain places that feel unsafe \u2013 for example, because groups of people are loitering there. It is important that we work together to make the neighbourhood safe and keep it that way.<\/p>\n<h2>Working together for the neighbourhood<\/h2>\n<p>Together with local residents and a range of organisations, we\u2019re going to work to keep the neighbourhood in good shape. We\u2019ve drawn up a plan of action setting out the steps we\u2019ll be taking.<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\n<div data-acfblock=\"Tekst\" class=\"section a section--blue e-tekst\">\r\n\t<div class=\"container\">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"row justify-content-center elementOnTop\">\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col article-content__content-custom-1220 editor elementOnTop\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<h2>Agenda<\/h2>\r\n<p>The following areas will receive extra attention in the coming years. First and foremost, we are working to improve social cohesion in the neighbourhood. We will also be focusing on sustainability. We are looking at how we can resolve issues relating to traffic and transport. Where necessary, we will improve public spaces, for example by introducing more green spaces and reducing litter. In this way, we are creating more housing. The homes will be built on Deventerstraat, Hoornbloem and on the site of the Theresiakerk, amongst other locations. As part of the building plans, we are also considering other aspects, such as community spaces and local care provision. This will make it easier for people to travel back and forth between Sluisoord-De Mheen and Anklaar-Sprenkelaar<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Municipality<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Beautiful Mheenpark<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>There is a new management plan for Mheenpark. The play area and picnic area are being redesigned. And the area around the skate park and tennis court is being refurbished. The paths are being upgraded and a wide circular path will be created. In addition, a work of art will be installed in the park \u2013 something the residents have been asking for.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Municipality<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>Alternatives to public transport<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n<p>Residents miss having public transport. We provide information on alternative transport options, such as car-sharing schemes.
