There is a shortage of housing for first-time buyers, single people and older people who need care. Steps are, however, being taken to address this issue.<\/p>\n<h2>Social environment<\/h2>\n<p>For a pleasant neighbourhood, it is important that residents are involved and get to know one another. Fortunately, the neighbourhood is committed to this. There is an active neighbourhood council and all sorts of activities take place. At the same time, there is still work to be done. For example, not everyone knows what activities are on offer, or where to go for help.<\/p>\n<h2>Green and sustainability<\/h2>\n<p>Many residents are actively working to make their homes more sustainable. They are having solar panels installed and improving the insulation in their homes. The local council is encouraging this. The neighbourhood also needs to be adapted to climate change. This means using fewer paving stones and more greenery, so that rainwater can drain away more easily and there is more shade during hot summers.<\/p>\n<h2>Young people<\/h2>\n<p>There are some lovely playgrounds in the neighbourhood for children. But there are fewer places for young people to meet up here. That is a cause for concern. Some young people also need better (mental health) support.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic<\/h2>\n<p>As in many neighbourhoods, cars here too regularly cause nuisance and safety issues. For example, near the schools. And the neighbourhood is not fully accessible for people with disabilities. This can and must be improved.<\/p>\n<h2>Taking action together<\/h2>\n<p>In this vitality plan, we set out what we intend to do about these and other issues. First and foremost, we are working to provide suitable housing for young and old alike. We are also building a pleasant social environment, so that people can live together harmoniously. Together, we are taking steps towards a green and sustainable neighbourhood. We are looking at what facilities are needed: from meeting places to additional shops. Traffic is on the agenda: how can it be made safer and more efficient? For example, through close cooperation between community development, youth work and the police. In the coming period, the neighbourhood will be refurbished and new homes will be built. This also means that new residents will be moving in.
