Relations with neighbours are often good. Some have lived here since the beginning. As they get older, some would like to move into a retirement home. But there are few such homes in this neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<h2>Activities and socialising<\/h2>\n<p>Residents like to keep up to date with what\u2019s going on in the neighbourhood. Activities help to keep life enjoyable and encourage people to look out for one another. The local council also offers support for neighbourhood initiatives. Not all residents are aware of this.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic, transport and facilities<\/h2>\n<p>Schools, sports pitches and the shopping centre are nearby. Residents of De Hoeven are pleased about this.<\/p>\n<p>There is certainly a demand for good places for older teenagers to exercise. Another area of concern is public transport to the hospital. People need additional transport options on this route. Furthermore, some road junctions could be made safer.<\/p>\n<h2>Sustainability<\/h2>\n<p>Many residents consider sustainability to be an important issue. They would also like to reduce their energy bills.<\/p>\n<p>De Maten is set to become a gas-free neighbourhood. Residents are concerned about the plans for this. They would like to have a say and be kept well informed.<\/p>\n<h2>Taking action together<\/h2>\n<p>Over the coming years, we will be working to address these and other issues. We have drawn up an action plan. Together, we are committed to ensuring a bright future for De Hoeven.<\/p>\n<h2>Agenda<\/h2>\n<p>Four areas will receive particular attention in the coming period. We are investing time in creating a supportive social environment where people look out for one another. Transport, road safety and local amenities are high on the agenda. We are committed to maintaining high standards of public safety. This is causing a nuisance for local residents. Don Bosco is engaging in dialogue with the young people. We are also looking at what the school can do.
