She translates the wishes of the political leadership into plans that municipal officials can implement, working alongside partners both within and outside Apeldoorn.<\/p>\n<h2>About the municipal clerk<\/h2>\n<p>As Chief Executive, Symone de Bruin is also the head of all civil servants at Apeldoorn City Council. She also served as a senior strategist within the Enschede Council group. She subsequently held various positions in Apeldoorn. She has been working in the spatial planning sector since 2013, initially as a unit manager and, from 2019, as a member of the group executive board with responsibility for the Spatial Planning and Economy portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>In her role, she has served as secretary of the national network of Urban Development Directors for the past six years. She is chair of the VNG\u2019s national task force on the Environment Act.
