You must deregister if you are moving abroad or if you will be staying outside the Netherlands for more than 8 months within a 12-month period. These 8 months do not have to be consecutive.
You must report your departure at the earliest 4 weeks before leaving and at the latest on the day of departure.
You can notify the municipality in two ways:
- Online: you can report your departure online only if no family members remain at your current address. Click the orange button above to submit your departure online.
- In Person (at the Municipality Desk): if any family members are staying behind at your current address, you must report your departure in person at the municipality. All individuals moving abroad, including minors, must be present.
