Every household has an environmental pass. This allows you to dispose of or arrange for the collection of up to 400 kilos of waste each year through the waste management organisation Circulus. You can also use the waste pass to access communal bins for general waste, nappies and organic waste. If your waste pass isn’t working or if you’ve lost it, you can apply for a new one from Circulus.
If you dispose of or arrange for the collection of more than 400 kilos of bulky waste within a year, you will be charged a fee per kilo. The charges vary depending on the type of waste. You will not receive a discount on your waste collection charge if you do not use the environmental pass, or use it less frequently.
Every year, on 1 January, Circulus automatically top-ups your waste pass to 400 kilos. It deducts the weighed quantity of bulky waste from your pass. Any remaining balance at the end of the year will lapse at the start of the following year.
Relocation
You must hand in your recycling card when you move house. If there is no recycling card at your new home, or if your recycling card has been stolen, please call the Circulus helpline on 0900 9552. Alternatively, fill in the contact form on the Circulus website In.
To apply for this pass and for further information on waste management, please visit the Circulus website. Among other things, you can book a collection for bulky household waste and check the balance on your environmental pass.
