Are you moving abroad? Or will you be spending more than 8 months abroad within a 1-year period? If so, you must deregister with your local council. Will any family members be staying at your current address in the Netherlands? If so, you must report this in person to the local council.

You are going to live abroad, or you will be staying abroad for more than 8 months within a 1-year period. These 8 months do not have to be consecutive.

Please notify us of your departure at least 4 weeks in advance and no later than the day of departure.

There are two ways to notify us of your departure abroad:

Online

You can only notify the authorities online of your departure abroad if no family members are remaining at the address. Notify the authorities online of your departure abroad. You can do this by clicking the orange button above.

Desk

If any family members are staying behind at the address, you and all those travelling abroad (including minors) must always report your departure in person at the counter.
