Short-stay accommodation units

Who are these units intended for?

These accommodation units are for people who urgently need affordable housing but have no chance of finding it. There may be various reasons for this. For example, they may not be registered as house-hunters, or their registration period may be too short. Alternatively, they may not be granted priority status or be unable to find accommodation in another type of housing scheme. This may include young people who can no longer live at home, people who need accommodation quickly following a divorce, or other ‘urgent seekers’. A temporary rental property gives them the chance to get their lives back on track. Afterwards, they can look for a long-term solution.

How are the studios allocated?

Through social services

The local council and Ons Huis are working together. They allocate the studio flats to people who urgently need somewhere to live. Various organisations put forward candidates. These include Stimenz’s Outreach Team, Omnizorg, the Salvation Army and Stichting Dakloos Apeldoorn. Candidates are already known to these organisations, or can register with them themselves.

Without support

Some people do not need assistance, but are (at risk of becoming) homeless. They are able to live independently and have an income. They can contact Ons Huis directly. Staff at Ons Huis will then provide information on how to qualify for a Short Stay studio.
