Contact with the municipal council

The municipal council takes decisions on main lines and checks whether the municipal executive executes them properly.

Send your message to the city council as:

• You want the municipal council to participate or influence you
• You want to draw attention to an issue that affects the whole municipality
• You want to respond to policy or decision-making
• You wish to exercise your right to speak

What we do with your message or letter

You can send a message or letter to the city council and councillors. All incoming messages and letters are considered and shared with all councillors. Your message or letter will always appear on the public list of items received in the RIS.

The municipal council can do a number of things with your message or letter:

1. To be notified.
   This usually happens. Individual councillors or political groups may respond to your message.
2. Add the message or letter to an agenda item at a committee or council meeting (publicly, without privacy-sensitive data).
   You will be notified of this. That way, councillors can take your message or opinion into their decision-making process.
3. Asking the municipal executive to give you a substantive response directly from the municipal organisation.
   They may also be asked to assist the municipal council with a response.
