iVision 2022–2026

At the end of 2016, the “iVisie: the Municipality of Apeldoorn in the Digital Age” was adopted by the municipal council. This iVisie laid the foundations for the further development of the municipality’s information services and has brought us to where we are today.

Review of iVisie 2016

Nevertheless, developments in Apeldoorn call for a reassessment of our iVision. The social challenges we face are becoming increasingly complex and are closely interlinked. Consider, for instance, the growth of our municipality to 180,000 residents, the introduction of the new environmental vision, the energy transition and the strengthening of the social fabric. Furthermore, Apeldoorn is establishing itself as a city of safety and security. The challenges are considerable, and the contribution of ICT is a key factor in our success. Changing social norms also require the council to respond intelligently to new technological developments. In this iVisie 2022–2026, we aim to do justice to these new developments and insights.

A large number of people have contributed to this updated iVisie. The process was interactive and involved a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to a large number of staff members, the youth council, the residents’ panel, the municipal council and external experts were consulted.

Main objective of iVisie 2022–2026

We are making the most of the opportunities and added value offered by digitalisation to achieve Apeldoorn’s objectives and facilitate inclusive and accessible services, organising our information provision in such a way that it is agile, robust and resilient.
