A green and vibrant neighbourhood
Veldhuis will not only be buzzing with activity, but will also be green and car-free. This will create a place in Apeldoorn where people can live, work, explore, learn and socialise. A special place full of life, creativity and remarkable architecture. A place with character and a unique atmosphere.
Netten-Talens (approximately 517 homes)
Royal Talens has now moved to new premises on the Apeldoorn Noord business park. This has created space in the Netten Talens area for a total of approximately 517 homes. The developers BPD and Dura Vermeer have jointly further developed the plan for this area. The information gathered during the residents’ meetings in February and July 2025 has been incorporated into the plan wherever possible. The environmental plan was put out for public consultation at the end of 2025, and on 7 January 2026 there was a further drop-in session regarding the environmental plan, visual quality plan and urban development plan. The developer will shortly begin demolition of the former Nettenfabriek. This is an important next step in the development of the project.
Education Cluster
In addition to housing development in the Netten-Talens area, there are also plans to expand educational facilities. Saxion and Wittenborg universities of applied sciences already have a campus on Spoorstraat. They are keen to expand their educational provision in Apeldoorn around the railway line.
In addition, the ‘Centre for Security and Digitalisation’ is looking for a permanent home. This education and research centre for (cyber)security and ICT is currently based temporarily on Wapenrustlaan but aims to develop into a centre of expertise of national importance. In doing so, they are seeking to link up with the other education and research partners in Veldhuis. In this way, we are transforming the Nettenfabriek and Spoorstraat areas into a ‘learning district’ and continuing to develop Apeldoorn as a city of education and a city of security.
