Choices of materials

We are replacing the existing concrete paving stones on the carriageway with new brown concrete paving stones. We are also using these stones in other residential streets in De Maten that we are repaving. In this way, we are ensuring that a sense of unity is restored to the neighbourhood. The brown colour gives a slightly warmer appearance than a standard grey concrete paving stone.

For the parking bays, we use recycled grey concrete paving stones. We create patterns using black concrete paving stones. We use white concrete paving stones for the markings on speed bumps and speed humps.

We will remove the posts wherever possible. We will reintroduce concrete pouffes in three locations, in a slightly more playful way than is currently the case. Instead of a row of two or three pouffes, the idea here is to arrange a collection of pouffes in various sizes. As we develop the plan further, we will look at how to ensure these pouffes are sufficiently visible in the dark.
