On 10 April, the municipality of Apeldoorn and TenneT signed an important agreement to bury the high-voltage power lines in De Maten. The signing of this so-called implementation agreement marks the start of the final phase of the project. During this phase, a detailed design will be drawn up and construction will begin.

What is the current situation?
TenneT has carried out various studies in collaboration with the local council. The local council has initiated the planning process. Unfortunately, issues have arisen regarding nitrogen. Construction projects must not result in additional nitrogen deposition in a Natura 2000 site. This project, however, does result in such deposition. The local authority and TenneT are working together to find a solution, but this is unfortunately causing delays to the project.
What happens next?
We expect to be able to provide more details on the progress of the project in the first quarter of 2025. We will write to you again as soon as there is any news.
