Upon registering with the municipality of Apeldoorn, some Ukrainian refugees automatically receive an invitation to take part in a screening programme. This applies to people who, based on their age, fall within the target group for one or more screening programmes for bowel cancer, breast cancer or cervical cancer.

Participation is not compulsory
These are preventive medical examinations. If there is no need for this examination, the letter may be returned to the sender. In that case, no reminder will be sent. If a Ukrainian refugee is still living in the Netherlands in two years’ time, a new invitation will be sent to their address as known at that time.
