The evacuation had a major impact on the residents. Fortunately, many people were able to stay with family, friends or acquaintances. For residents who had nowhere to stay, a temporary accommodation centre was set up in the community centre. However, very few people made use of it. The mayor understands that the situation has been deeply disruptive for residents: “I can well imagine that it takes a great toll on you when you have to leave your home unexpectedly. Especially when you don’t know how long it will last. Fortunately, all residents have now been able to return home. I would like to thank them for their cooperation and understanding during this unsettling situation.”
As soon as the police have finished their investigation at the property in question, it will be closed, by order of the mayor, until a date yet to be determined.
