You meet the following conditions:
- You live in the municipality of Apeldoorn.
- Over the past 12 months, you have Individual Income Supplement were granted, or you were entitled to social assistance benefits (PW, IOAW or IOAZ) for a continuous period of at least 36 months immediately prior to taking up employment.
(‘exit’ is defined as: obtaining, through taking up employment, an income higher than the social assistance threshold)

Provided the conditions are met, the severance payment will be awarded to:
- the former benefit recipient: this is automatically awarded to you and paid out three months after you start work;
- Those not entitled to benefits: you must apply for the leaving allowance yourself. You can do this from the fourth month, but no later than the seventh month after starting work.
- You must be able to prove that you meet the criteria set out in the scheme. Keep original supporting documents, such as proof of income and bank statements, in a safe place. We may ask you to provide these up to one year after the date of approval.
You will not receive a severance payment if you:
- has already received a transition allowance in the 12 months prior to moving into paid employment
- €350 if you live alone and have no children under the age of 18 living at home.
- €450 if you live alone and have child(ren) under the age of 18 living at home.
- €500 if you are married or living with a partner.
