Together, we’ll draw up an action plan setting out the arrangements we’ve agreed upon to help you make a fresh start. We’ll provide support tailored to your specific needs. This means you’ll receive support that’s tailored to your situation.
Was your childcare allowance wrongly stopped in the past? Or have you had to pay back a large sum of money? As a parent, have you been affected by the problems with the childcare allowance? If so, you can get help and support with finances, health, housing, work, and care & family matters. This is known as ‘comprehensive support’.

Have your parents been affected by the benefits scandal? If so, you may be eligible for the child benefit scheme. You will receive a letter from the Tax and Customs Administration regarding the child benefit scheme. It also contains information about the amount of money you will receive. As well as the financial support, you can also get help from the local council.

We’ll then discuss your situation and what you need. You can, for example, get help with:
- Money worries and keeping track of your finances;
- If you’re having health problems or if you’re not feeling quite yourself;
- Looking for work or studying;
- Providing support when your own family needs help.
Are you aged 18 or over and do you have problematic debts? If so, you can come to us for additional debt support services. We’ll help you build a positive outlook for the future and pay off debts that can be managed. We’ll set this out together in an action plan. This is also possible if you’re already in a debt settlement scheme.
The new Benefits Recovery Act came into force on 1 January 2025. This has introduced time limits into the Benefits Recovery Act. For more information on national guidelines, please visit:

The support team assists parents and children who have been affected by the benefits scandal and are facing out-of-home care. Do you need help? If so, please contact the independent national Support Team via www.hetondersteuningsteam.nl.
Are you looking to get in touch with others in a similar situation? If so, you can ring the national Peer Support Helpline (030-44 20 000) from Monday to Saturday between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm and between 5.00 pm and 9.00 pm. You will be put through to a parent who has also been affected by the childcare allowance scandal. You can share your story with them and, if you wish, they can refer you to organisations that can offer further support. The Peer Support Line can also be contacted via the email address contact@lotgenotencontact.info and via a contact form on the website lotgenotencontact.info. Peer support is an initiative of BOinK and the Childcare Allowance Parents’ Panel (at the request of the State Secretary).
