On 13 May 2025, the Municipal Executive adopted the Apeldoorn Noise Action Plan 2024–2028.
The legal obligation to draw up and adopt noise exposure maps is set out in the Environmental Noise Directive (2002/49/EC) and the Environment Act (Article 3.6 of the Environment Act). Under the Environment Act, the action plan is a mandatory programme and serves as the operational implementation of the Environmental Vision. The action plan sets out policy to reduce environmental noise and the proposed measures. The aim is to reduce the number of people experiencing nuisance, serious nuisance and sleep disturbance. This will improve health outcomes. The measures described in the action plan target relevant noise sources within the municipal boundaries of Apeldoorn. The focus is on preventing and reducing traffic noise from municipal roads.
The Apeldoorn Noise Action Plan 2024–2028 will come into force on 13 May 2025. No objections or appeals may be lodged against the adopted policy document.
