Report unclear language
Letters from your local council that you don’t understand. That must be very frustrating. Many people in Apeldoorn feel the same way. If you receive a letter or email that’s unclear, please let us know!
A letter written in unclear language – what do you think of that? We asked the residents of Apeldoorn.
How can you let us know?
- Please tick the parts of the letter that you do not understand.
- Write “Plain Language” on the letter or envelope.
- If you would like us to get back to you, we will need your details. Please include your name and telephone number (or address or email address) on the letter.
Where can you hand in the letter?
- There is a postbox at the front and back of the town hall where you can post the letter.
- You can also email a photo or a copy of the letter to duidelijk@apeldoorn.nl.
- You can put the letter in an envelope and return it free of charge by writing this address and the freepost number on the envelope:

So what happens to it then?
We will get in touch with our colleague who wrote the letter. We will then work together to improve it. If you have included your contact details on the letter, we will also get in touch with you.
‘Clear’ is not the same as whether you agree with it
Sometimes you simply disagree with the letter. In other words, you find the letter quite clear, but you wish to respond to its content. In that case, it is best to contact the author of the letter. The author’s name is given at the bottom of the letter.
