In 2024, the municipal council adopted the area vision for Beemte Broekland. In consultation with residents, the number of hectares earmarked for solar parks has been reduced to a total of 38 ha. The council, residents and project initiators are continuing to work together in a co-creative process, within the established framework, on the precise design and implementation of the solar parks.
Land in a wide strip along the A50 and near existing solar fields, such as the Bloemenkamp solar park, is being assessed should an initiative arise. The area vision identifies approximately 38 hectares of potential land for solar parks, including the existing Bloemenkamp solar park.
In November 2024, the first working sessions on the design and implementation of the solar parks in Beemte Broekland took place. Local residents and representatives from the BBvBB were present to contribute ideas on how to integrate the solar parks into the area. The council considers the input of both local residents and landowners whose plots are the subject of solar park initiatives to be important. At some stage in the co-creation process, the initiator(s) of the solar parks will also be involved. These are parties who are developing concrete plans and wish to implement them.
Since December 2024, a series of working sessions has been taking place on the design and construction of the solar parks in Beemte Broekland. Local residents are contributing their ideas on how the parks can be integrated into the area.
The project initiator will present the preliminary design for the solar park during a residents’ evening. The design takes into account the integration into the landscape and the considerations arising from the working sessions. The aim of this evening is to inform residents about the plans and to answer any questions.
Submission of the licence application: Following the conclusion of the public consultation evening and the processing of the final feedback from residents and stakeholders, the final design of the solar park is being prepared for the planning application.
The steps outlined above are expected to take several months. Those involved will be invited by letter at each stage.
