Insulate your home with a grant

Insulation is always a good idea. It saves you money and energy. Insulation ensures a warm and comfortable home in winter, and a cool home in summer. You can use the home insulation grant to insulate your floor, roof or walls, or to replace your windows and window frames.

Home insulation grant at a glance

  • WOZ value and energy label
    Your property’s WOZ value and energy label determine whether you are eligible. Check this using the subsidy check.
  • Amount of the grant
    Depending on your income, you may be eligible for a grant of €1,000, €1,500 or €6,000 to insulate your home.
  • Neighbour Bonus
    Are you planning to work with two or more neighbours (at least three addresses)? If so, you will receive an additional €500 grant per address.
  • Submit a claim retrospectively
    You can also apply for the grant retrospectively.
    Please note: are you eligible for €6,000? If so, you must always apply for this in advance.
  • Grant for DIY enthusiasts
    A grant is also available for the purchase of insulation materials.
  • Combine with ISDE
    You can apply for this grant, even if you have already ISDE grant has applied for.

Insulating your home can be quite complicated. Which measure will save you the most energy? And how do you find a reliable contractor?

Help is available to answer these questions. In addition to the grant amounts, you can also make use of a free home energy coach who can help you identify which measures will deliver the greatest savings. You can indicate on the application form if you wish to make use of this service.

If your income is less than 150% of the social minimum, support is available throughout the process. You will not need to pay the amount up front either; the local authority will pay the contractor.

You can apply for a grant either in advance or retrospectively. There are a few exceptions:

  • If you are eligible for up to €6,000, you must always apply for the grant in advance.
  • If you had your home insulated by an insulation company or a builder less than 12 months ago, you can claim a refund retrospectively.
  • Are you submitting an application together with two neighbours (a total of at least three addresses)? If so, you can only claim a refund retrospectively. Make sure you ask the contractor to draw up a joint quotation.
  • If you have carried out insulation work yourself less than 12 months ago, you should submit a retrospective DIY application.

Please note: If you are planning to insulate a building, this may have adverse consequences for (protected) animal species. Disturbing or harming animals and their nests is prohibited under the Environment Act. This Act therefore also protects animal species that live in buildings. For some types of work on buildings, an ecological survey must therefore be carried out and a permit applied for. To assist you, Apeldoorn Council has drawn up a Species Management Plan (SMP).
