Beemte Broekland is beautifully situated in the countryside around Apeldoorn. Apart from the village of Beemte, most of the homes are scattered across the countryside. The population totals just over 1,000. Around half of the households are families with children, mostly teenagers.
Most people really enjoy living in Beemte Broekland. It is a close-knit neighbourhood where people look out for one another. There is an active neighbourhood association, the Beemte Broekland Neighbourhood and Interest Association (BBvBB). Many people roll up their sleeves to help the community. The neighbourhood has a primary school, a playground and a petrol station. People have to travel further afield for shops.
A close-knit, friendly neighbourhood like this is not something to be taken for granted. It’s important to keep it that way. The neighbourhood has plenty of ideas on how to do this. The local council and Samen055 are happy to help.
One area of concern is providing suitable housing for young and old alike. Young people are often moving away at the moment because there are no starter homes available. Fortunately, there are plans for new-build homes. Among older people, there is a demand for homes that facilitate informal care. This allows them to continue living in the neighbourhood, with the support of family and friends.
People sometimes drive too fast and dangerously on the roads in Beemte Broekland. We want to change that. Public transport could also be improved. There is a Belbus service, but it isn’t being used.
We have drawn up an agenda for the coming years, setting out the issues we will tackle together. These issues reflect the wishes of local residents. Together, we are committed to ensuring a bright future for Beemte Broekland.
Between 2024 and 2034, we will be focusing particularly on two areas: housing and community life, to ensure that Beemte Broekland remains a pleasant neighbourhood for everyone; and traffic and transport, to ensure it is safe and that you can get around easily.
