You must notify us of your move no earlier than 4 weeks before and no later than 5 days after the moving date. If the 5-day period ends on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, it will be extended to the next working day. If you notify us of the move later than 5 working days before the move date, the notification date will be deemed to be the move date.
Report your move in time, avoid a fine
The local authority is entitled to request further supporting documents at a later date if there is any doubt as to the accuracy of the declaration.
Administrative fine
If you do not notify us of your move within the specified time limit, you may an administrative fine will be fined. This fine amounts to a maximum of €325.

The local authority will update your address in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP). On the central government’s website, you can see which organisations can access your personal data from the BRP.
