In the city centre, there is a ban on bicycle parking at certain times. In exceptional cases, you can obtain an exemption from the bicycle parking ban. Do you have difficulty walking? Or do you have a medical reason why you cannot walk to a bicycle shed or parking space? If so, you can collect a bicycle parking exemption from the customer reception desk at the town hall.
Apply for an exemption from the bicycle parking ban
Anyone may park their bike outside a shop until 11.00 am to pop in and pick something up quickly. After 11:00 and until the shops close (Monday to Sunday until 18:00, and on Thursdays until 21:00), bikes may only be parked in the bike sheds, racks or designated parking spaces. You can recognise the on-street cycle parking bays by their white edges.
Do you find it difficult to park your bike in a cycle shed, rack or bay and walk to a shop or business? If so, you can collect an exemption from the cycle parking ban at the customer reception desk in the town hall. With this exemption, you may continue to park your bike outside a business even after 11.00.
