Social entrepreneurship is important to Apeldoorn. Many entrepreneurs make a positive social or environmental contribution through their work. For example, they are committed to creating opportunities for people with disabilities, reducing waste or tackling poverty in local neighbourhoods.
City Deal: Impact on Business
Alongside countless other local authorities, impact entrepreneurs, research institutions, financiers, funds and consultancy firms, Apeldoorn has signed the City Deal. In practice, these impact entrepreneurs still face various barriers. For example, they often find themselves innovating on their own. Or they often find legislation and regulations complicated.
The City Deal on Impact Entrepreneurship aims to reduce these obstacles and promote impact entrepreneurship. It does this by supporting entrepreneurs in a number of ways. For example, the partners in the City Deal are building a network with other entrepreneurs and policymakers, conducting research and sharing knowledge, and offering support to help businesses become more professional. Work is also being done to improve policy for entrepreneurs. Find out more about this city deal.
