Coalition Agreement

The agreement has been signed. On 27 May 2026, the group leaders of the coalition parties – Lokaal Apeldoorn, VVD, CDA, D66 and ChristenUnie – signed the coalition agreement ‘Space for People’. Through this coalition agreement, the parties are committing to a municipality that invests in both the physical and social living environment. An Apeldoorn where people take responsibility, meet one another and work together to build the future of the city and its villages.

Proud of Apeldoorn

Apeldoorn is set to grow to at least 180,000 residents in the coming years. This growth requires more than just housing, infrastructure and economic activity. The coalition is firmly committed to building strong communities and a society in which people take responsibility for themselves and for one another.

The five coalition parties are committed to a local authority that provides scope for initiatives from neighbourhoods and villages, and encourages social interaction in places where people naturally come together, such as schools, sports clubs, village halls and neighbourhood squares. At the same time, the coalition recognises that not everyone can solve everything on their own. The local authority acts as a reliable safety net for people who need temporary support. It is organised in a way that is accessible and people-centred, rather than operating at a distance through rules and systems.
