Through our initiatives, we support children, young people and families. By taking a timely and preventative approach, we aim to stop problems from arising or getting worse.
The plan sets out 18 preventative measures. These complement the work already being carried out within the local authority. The measures are based on:
The initiatives are tailored to the places where children and young people are most often found: at home, at childcare centres, at school and in the neighbourhood. Among other things, they focus on:
Parents and/or carers are primarily responsible for bringing up their children. Together with their support network, they raise their children. That is why we want to build on the strength of families as much as possible. We also work in partnership with a family’s informal networks. This enables families to receive support that is tailored to their neighbourhood and as close to home as possible.
By providing the right support at the right time, we can prevent the need for more intensive care. That is better for everyone, especially for the young people themselves. Meeting the high demand for youth care is a challenge. That is why we are also focusing on prevention, as this enables us to ensure that youth care remains available for the most vulnerable young people and families.
