Appeals Committee

If you have lodged an objection to a decision made by the local authority, the local authority will initially invite you to a meeting to try to reach a solution together. If this proves unsuccessful, the appeals committee will consider your objection.

If your objection is being considered, you will have the opportunity to explain your objection in person at a hearing. You will receive an invitation to attend. Following the hearing, the committee will issue a recommendation to the local authority.

The local authority will then make a new decision and inform you of its decision in writing. This decision will also include the committee’s recommendation.

The Appeals Committee is independent and comprises external experts. The committee meets every two weeks.
