We are thinking about a bright future for Beemte Broekland. What do we want Beemte Broekland to look like in 10 years’ time? How do we want to live, work and spend our leisure time? And how can we generate energy sustainably? Residents and the local council have worked together to draw up a neighbourhood vision covering these and many other topics.
The local council has Area development plan for Beemte Broekland adopted. Residents and the local council worked together to piece the puzzle together. What is important, and how do we address the various issues? On many topics, the residents’ guiding principles have been incorporated into the area vision. Following consultation, the number of hectares earmarked for solar parks has been halved compared to previous plans of the local authority. On other issues, such as agriculture, the countryside and nature, there were many similarities between the local authority’s ambitions and what residents want.

Residents and the local council have recently been working together to explore how the area can remain vibrant and liveable in the future. In 2023 and 2024, we worked together on a plan for the area’s future: the area vision. This vision will incorporate a wide range of themes, such as agriculture, the energy transition, housing, the landscape, biodiversity, business activity, and so on.
