Dead pets
Have you found a dead pet? If so, please report it to the OverGelder Animal Ambulance by calling 088 811 3003.

Dead wild animals on land
Have you found a small dead wild animal, such as a swan, goose, duck, fish or rodent? Please report this to the local council.

Is it a large wild animal, such as a badger, marten, fox, roe deer, red deer or wild boar? If so, please call the police on 0900-8844.

Dead animals in the water
If you see a dead animal in the water, for example in a pond or ditch, please report it to Vallei en Veluwe Water Board.

To prevent cats from straying, it is important that you have your cat microchipped.

If an animal has some form of identification (a microchip, tattoo, collar with its name and address, etc.), there is a good chance that the owner will get their lost pet back.

If you are involved in a collision with, for example, a red deer, roe deer or wild boar, please call the police immediately on 0900-8844. Further information can be found at the Dutch Wildlife Collisions Foundation.

Do you suspect or have you witnessed animal abuse or neglect? If so, you can report this to the central helpline 144 ‘Save an Animal’ or go to Animal Welfare Unit or National Animal Welfare Inspectorate.

Examples:

• Animal cruelty: the deliberate infliction of pain or injury on an animal.
• Neglected animals: insufficient food, water or medical care, or poor grooming of their coat, nails or teeth.
• Poor housing conditions: for example, a dog kept in a kennel that is far too small.
