If you need to prove that the signature on a document is genuinely yours, you can have your signature legalised. Legalising your signature merely proves that it is genuine. It says nothing about the content of the document.

Making an appointment

You must sign the form in the presence of a civil servant. We will authenticate it immediately, and your application will then be processed straight away.

To have your signature legalised, please come to the town hall in person. Please book an appointment online.

Please bring the following to your appointment:

  • the letter or document bearing the signature to be legalised
  • a valid form of identification.
