Passport

• You have Dutch nationality
• You are registered in the Basic Registration of Persons of the Municipality of Apeldoorn
• When applying and collecting, the person for whom the travel document is intended must be present. This also applies to children

You can start the application for a passport online

1. You enter your details at home.
2. After entering, make an appointment with the public counter within a month for your signature, fingerprinting, submission of a passport photo and payment.
3. You will receive an email when you can collect your new passport from City Hall.
4. You can only start an application for yourself and not for someone else. The person logging in with DigiD is also the applicant, this also applies to children.

Take to appointment:

• A good-looking passport photo not more than six months old at the time of application. See the requirements for a passport photo at the central government.
• All Dutch and foreign travel documents (passports and identity cards) registered in your name. It does not matter whether they are still valid. For example, do you have an identity card and are also applying for a passport? Then take your identity card with you. Don't have an ‘old’ travel document? Then bring another valid identity document, such as a driving licence
• Means of payment (prefer pin to cash)

Note: Is the application for someone under the age of 18? 
If so, both parent(s)/custodial parent(s) must consent to the application.

You will receive an e-mail when your passport is ready. Have you not received an e-mail or no e-mail address? Then you can collect your passport after 6 working days. You can collect your passport in person without an appointment during opening hours.

• Children under 18 years of age must also apply for and collect their passports themselves.
• Up to 12 years, at least one parent/guardian must also come along.
• Both parent(s)/guardian(s) must give consent. This can be done in three ways

Both parents/guardians accompany child to appointment

• You can both already give digital consent at home via the online consent form.

Or

• You both bring your proof of identity and a completed consent form (pdf, 79 kB) that both parents/guardians signed.

One parent/guardian with child to the appointment

• Bring your proof of identity with you. The absent parent or custodian fills in the online consent form In.

Or

• Bring your proof of identity and the (copy) proof of identity of the absent parent or custodian. Bring a pre-filled out and signed by both parents or custodians. consent form (pdf, 79 kB) along.

Child comes to appointment alone

• The parents/legal guardians consent to the application using DigiD. You both fill in separately a online consent form In.

Or

• Your child will bring the (copies of) the identity documents of both custodians along with the completed consent form (pdf, 79 kB), which is signed by both parents/guardians.

• You can apply for your passport urgently. This costs €60.30 more than an ordinary application.
• If you apply for the passport urgently before 2.45pm, you can collect it the next working day after 9.30am. In exceptional cases, it takes 2 working days.
• You cannot make an urgent application if you have already made a normal application. You cannot change a normal application to an urgent application.
