Following a court ruling, we are now adopting a revised procedure for budgetary grants. Whereas we previously made a decision straight away, we will now first publish a notice of our intention to award a grant on the website officialannouncements.nl. This notice sets out the organisation to which we intend to award a grant, the corresponding grant amount and the criteria. The notice will be published at least eight weeks before the grant decision is taken. During this period, other organisations that believe they are (also) eligible for a grant may submit comments. This procedure may mean that it takes longer for a grant decision to be made. It is also possible that responses may be received in relation to a published notice of intention. We consider these responses carefully. Depending on the responses, we assess whether a grant can be awarded or whether a different procedure is required. The exact procedure for this is currently still being developed. If it is relevant to the grant applicant, we will inform them accordingly.
