Do you need proof to show that you are alive? For foreign authorities, you should apply for a certificate of life. For use in the Netherlands, you will need a Certificate of Life.

You can apply for a certificate of life for foreign authorities. For Dutch authorities, you will need a Proof of life required. You can also apply for a certificate of residence from the municipality of Apeldoorn if you live abroad but are staying in Apeldoorn temporarily.

Take to appointment:

  • a valid form of identification
  • the letter from your pension fund (not pension insurance or life insurance) if you need the Attestatie de vita for your pension fund.

You will be given the certificate straight away.

Languages

The Attestatie de vita is issued in two languages: Dutch and French. You can also receive an appendix explaining the document in German, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Turkish.

The cost of a certificate of life is €17.80.
