You will discuss your personal, financial, housing and living circumstances with your case worker. Your circumstances will determine whether you are eligible for an IOAW benefit. They will also determine the amount of the benefit.
Sharing a home with adults affects the type and amount of benefit you receive. The nature of your relationship with them is important in this regard. During your first appointment, you will discuss whether you are sharing costs or running a joint household with your (ex-)partner.
