Circulus collects your household waste separately. This is done using mini-bins at your home and communal bins in your neighbourhood. Other waste streams, such as PMD (plastic, metal and drink cartons), paper and cardboard, and organic waste (vegetable, fruit and garden waste) are free of charge.
Waste separation
You pay for general waste each time you use the underground general waste bin in your neighbourhood or put your mini-bin out for collection. So, by sorting your waste properly, you save money and help create a better world. You can find more information about waste separation and disposal at the Circulus website or in the Circulus app.
Bulky waste and broken items
Bulky waste is waste that does not fit in the bin. You can take this to the recycling centre yourself or arrange for it to be collected. You can take bulky waste and broken items to the Recycleplein (Aruba 16, Apeldoorn and Talhoutweg 26, Vaassen). You can dispose of up to 400 kg of bulky waste per year free of charge. Many types of waste are free, for example mattresses, e-waste, scrap metal, glass and small chemical waste.

Sometimes you may not be able to take your waste to the recycling centre yourself. For example, due to illness. If you’re not sure what to do, we’ll be happy to work with you to find the best solution. Please call 14 055 and ask to speak to a member of the Recycling Service team.
You pay a waste collection charge for the collection of waste. Tribute On behalf of the council, it sends an annual council tax bill to all households in Apeldoorn. This consists of two parts: a fixed charge and a charge for each time you put out your rubbish.
You will be charged each time you have your mini-container emptied or use the underground container.
Your costs will be higher if you put out general waste more often. So you’ll save money by sorting your waste. The other types of waste are free.

The cost of providing a 140-litre wheelie bin for general waste at your home is €7.75 per collection
Medical waste
People who generate a lot of medical waste, such as materials used for incontinence, stoma care or kidney dialysis, can sometimes receive a contribution towards the costs.
Please note: if you use the underground nappy bin, you are not eligible for the allowance for incontinence products. This is because use of the nappy bin is free of charge.
Am I eligible for an exemption from the waste collection charge?
Are you receiving social security benefits or another form of minimum income? Do you find it difficult to make ends meet on your income? You may be eligible for a waiver.
