You can apply for a correspondence address if you:
- is staying in a care home
- stays abroad for less than 8 months
- moved into a new home, as a temporary arrangement
- are in prison
- are homeless
You can use the address of a family member, friend or acquaintance as a correspondence address. Apply for the correspondence address at the local authority where this address is located. To do so, you will need written consent and a copy of the main occupant’s identity document.
There are two ways to apply for a correspondence address:
In writing
Fill in the Application form for a correspondence address (PDF, 177 kB) in. You should do this in the municipality where the person with the correspondence address lives. Please email the completed form, together with a copy of your ID, to briefadres@apeldoorn.nl. Or you can send it to:

Please note: If you are not currently registered with a Dutch local authority with a residential or correspondence address, you will still need to visit the counter to complete your (re)registration once your application has been approved. You will be notified if your application has been approved. You can then make an appointment by calling 14055.

Homeless
Are you homeless and unable to obtain a correspondence address from family, friends or acquaintances?
Please contact Stichting De Herberg, Deventerstraat 40, Apeldoorn. Please note: they only grant permission for the correspondence address. They will discuss the conditions with you, but it is the local authority that decides whether you will be granted the correspondence address.
We will let you know within 8 weeks whether your application for a correspondence address has been approved. Do you already have a correspondence address in the municipality of Apeldoorn? If so, you do not need to submit a new application to renew it. We will contact you directly regarding the renewal. We will then reassess whether you meet the conditions for a correspondence address.
