In 2025, you will be able to choose from:
- A €50 credit on the Apeldoorn City Card, which can be spent at local shops, restaurants and sports clubs, amongst other places
- Two tickets for a performance of *West Side Story* or *Hairspray* at the Orpheus Theatre. Please note: there are a limited number of tickets available. You will be able to see the available dates when you register.
Apply for the informal carer’s award between 15 September and 30 November 2025. Stichting de Kap is responsible for awarding the informal carer’s award on behalf of the municipality of Apeldoorn.
- With the application form (De Kap).
- From 15 September to 30 November 2025 inclusive.
- Please note: keep the confirmation of your application that you will receive by email!
- Would you prefer to speak to someone in person? Please call 055 5767998 and leave your name and telephone number. A member of staff from the De Kap Foundation will then contact you by telephone at a later date to help you with your application. You can apply for the informal carer’s allowance until 30 November 2025.
Are you choosing a performance? You’ll see straight away whether your chosen date is available. (You’ll receive two tickets for the same performance as a voucher on your Stadspas. The tickets cannot be exchanged for cash. You must use the tickets yourself; you cannot give them away. If you don’t go, the tickets will expire. You cannot choose another performance). Don’t forget to bring your Stadspas with the voucher on it to Orpheus when you come to the performance.
Apeldoorn City Council does not hold any data on informal carers. Residents receiving support under the Social Support Act (Wmo) will therefore receive a letter regarding the informal carer recognition scheme. You can pass this letter on to your informal carer(s). The Municipality of Apeldoorn and Stichting de Kap are doing their best to reach as many informal carers as possible through other channels as well.
Do you know any informal carers? It would be great if you could let them know about this initiative from the local council.
If you are eligible, you will receive an Apeldoorn City Pass with the informal carer’s allowance credited to it, sent to your home address in December. Do you already have a Stadspas? If so, we’ll credit the amount to it. If you choose two tickets for a performance, this will appear as a voucher on your Stadspas. When you go to the performance at Orpheus, simply show your Stadspas with the voucher at the door.
Young carers aged 18 to 23 can choose between a gift voucher, a cash payment or two tickets to a show. Carers under the age of 18 will receive a gift voucher. Please note: there is a separate website for applying for the gift voucher: www.mantelzorgwaarderingdekap.nl.
You are considered an informal carer if you look after someone for more than three months and/or for more than 8 hours a week. This always involves a personal relationship – for example, a partner, child, parent or friend. The informal carer allowance is available to anyone who is an informal carer for a resident of the municipality of Apeldoorn. The informal carer does not need to live in the municipality themselves.
We would like to thank you very much for your hard work, care and commitment!
