Civil Engineering Works Planner

As a dedicated work planner, you will play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure projects in the municipality of Apeldoorn. Sustainability issues such as circularity and climate adaptation – and, consequently, innovation within our field – are of great importance in this context.

As part of a team comprising urban planners, project managers, designers, work planners, site managers, asset managers, facility managers and consultants, we shape Apeldoorn’s public spaces. As a work planner within our team, you will be responsible for preparing civil engineering works. Naturally, this will only happen once you have spoken to the residents of Apeldoorn about the initiative you are working on. Public participation is very important to our local authority.

In this role, your focus will be on civil engineering project planning. Specifically, this will involve the following tasks:

• Working on a project basis within the project team;
• Close collaboration with both the project manager and the public space designer. Various asset managers and consultants are also involved in this process;
• Ensuring detailed coordination between the various disciplines;
• To take responsibility for the tendering process, liaising with external engineering firms when outsourcing services and acting as the first point of contact;
• Drawing on your talents, you’ll play an active part in realising our ambitions.

This vacancy for a civil engineering work planner is your next step if you:

• To help shape the Apeldoorn of tomorrow;
• A completed MBO or HBO degree in civil engineering; other relevant qualifications combined with work experience (focusing on reconstruction or redevelopment projects) are also welcome;
• Knowledge of civil engineering, familiarity with (RAW) specifications, experience in cost estimation and familiarity with various types of contract;
• Have experience with technical drawing programmes (such as MicroStation);
• Enjoys working on a project basis and in a customer-focused manner;
• You are able to work independently;

As a person, you are strong at planning and organising, but can also switch easily to ad hoc tasks. You communicate clearly and concisely. Furthermore, you have an enthusiastic and customer-focused attitude and work independently, in a structured and organised manner. You are proactive and enjoy working as part of a team.

To draft specifications and other documents, you must have a good command of the Dutch language (at least B2 level), both spoken and written.

Here’s what we offer you

• An employment contract initially for one year, working 36 hours per week;
• A gross monthly salary of up to €5,096 (scale 9) based on a 36-hour week;
• 201.6 hours’ leave based on a 36-hour week;
• An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,45% on top of your salary. You can use this, for example, for:
