Here’s what you’ll be doing
Together with your colleagues, you’ll help keep public spaces safe, accessible, climate-resilient and healthy for our more than 168,000 residents. And let’s not forget: you’ll help keep Apeldoorn looking beautiful! As a parks and gardens officer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our city’s green spaces. The hedges, shrubs, perennials and woodland areas: they’re in safe hands with you!

This means that you:

• carries out grounds maintenance;
• carries out construction and renovation work;
• provides support to people who are distanced from the labour market and those on vocational training programmes;
• handle complaints independently in your neighbourhood;
• contributes ideas on developments and changes in your neighbourhood;
• you’ll continue to develop your skills in this field.

Working for Apeldoorn
You will be working in the Management and Maintenance department. This department is responsible for ensuring that public spaces remain safe, accessible, climate-resilient and healthy – from green spaces and roads to sewerage systems, cemeteries and pumping stations. Residents’ involvement is playing an increasingly important role in management and maintenance. Consequently, more and more is being done by and in consultation with residents. After all, public spaces belong to us all. You’ll be joining a friendly and close-knit team of around 25 colleagues, where there’s a great atmosphere.

Here’s what we offer you

• A gross monthly salary of up to €3,416 (scale 4) based on a 36-hour working week (this excludes an inconvenience allowance of €158 gross);
• Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,45% on top of your salary (minimum €430 and maximum €588 gross per month, depending on your pay scale). You can use this budget, for example, to buy extra leave, but of course you can also have the budget paid out at any time;
• 201.6 hours’ leave based on a 36-hour week;
• The opportunity to take courses to enhance your professional knowledge;
• An attractive pension scheme.
• Do you travel to work by public transport? If so, you’ll be fully reimbursed. Do you travel by car, bike or on foot? If so, you’ll receive an allowance for this.

What do we expect from you?
As a true professional, you’ll ensure that the green spaces in public areas look their best. We can certainly entrust that to you! Come rain or shine, we can count on you, and you’re flexible. As well as carrying out your own duties, you enjoy mentoring people who are distanced from the labour market. You also have:

• completed a vocational course in horticulture, at MBO-3 level in terms of both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
• a B-E driving licence or willing to obtain an E licence.
• a willingness to develop yourself and take courses.
• a certificate in road safety or a willingness to obtain one
