Heritage Images grant

Apeldoorn has a rich history. Some stories from our past are widely known, whilst others are waiting to be told. Information displayed in public spaces, such as an information board or a form of artwork, can help to draw attention to these stories.

To raise the profile of and enhance the experience of Apeldoorn’s history, the ‘Heritage Representations’ scheme has been incorporated into the Heritage Fund. Project organisers who wish to create a visible reference to a moment in Apeldoorn’s history in a public space may submit an application for a grant.

Grant applications can be submitted at any time of the year.
Your application consists of the following parts:

  1. Design and rationale

    • A design or description of the heritage display, including information on materials, maintenance and safety.
    • A justification as to why the heritage installation is desirable at this location.
  2. Location details

    • A description of the location where you wish to place the heritage representation, including its location on a map and photographs of the surrounding area.
    • If there are several heritage sites in the immediate vicinity, please add them to the map and include photographs and a brief description of each site.
  3. Support

    • A description of the level of public support for the heritage proposal. This must, in any event, be accompanied by a statement confirming that the owners of adjacent plots have no objections.
    • If you are not the owner of the land on which the heritage display is to be installed, you must also include a letter of consent from the landowner with your application.
  4. Budget

    • A balanced budget with explanatory notes.
    • Quotation(s) setting out labour costs, material costs and VAT.

All the eligibility criteria for this grant scheme can be found in Heritage Fund Regulation 3.1 in Chapter 6.
