Grote Markthof: an oasis of calm right in the heart of the city centre

What is the Grote Markthof?

The Grote Markthof will be a courtyard right in the heart of the city centre, somewhat tucked away amongst the shopping streets. It will be a wonderful place to wander around. We also refer to this as a ‘wandering environment’ – a place where residents, visitors and business owners will want to spend time. Our vision for the Grote Markthof is that it will be a continuous, green and freely accessible courtyard. What exactly will the Grote Markthof look like? We have been working hard on this together with business owners, property owners, residents, stakeholders and interested parties.

Grote Markthof is part of a larger whole

The Grote Markthof is a development we will be working on over the coming years and forms part of the plans set out in the Development Plan for Apeldoorn City Park (pdf, 12.4 MB). With the city park, Apeldoorn is continuing to develop into a unique city with its own distinct character. A city centre that remains easily accessible is part of that. Accessibility

The works will affect access to the rear of properties on Hoofdstraat, Beekstraat and Marktstraat. We will be contacting the business owners and residents affected to make arrangements regarding access, so that disruption is kept to a minimum.
