Apeldoorn Comprehensive Safety Plan 2023–2026

Our overarching aim is to keep Apeldoorn safe. We work hard towards this every day, including at weekends and at night, in collaboration with our partners in the security chain.

Main objective

‘Apeldoorn is a safe town (and we want to keep it that way)‘

Apeldoorn is currently a safe and comfortable place to live, work and enjoy leisure activities, and we want it to stay that way! After all, a safe living environment is the foundation for us all to live, work and enjoy leisure activities together. In short, it is the foundation for the comfortable and inclusive (family-friendly) city that Apeldoorn aspires to be.

Among other things, this means that:

  • The rating for ‘neighbourhood safety’ given by residents must remain the same or be higher than 7.6 (in 2022: 7.5).
  • The percentage of residents who feel safe (60% in 2022) must increase or at least remain the same;
  • The number of incidents (23,555 in 2022) and offences (5,593 in 2022) in the municipality must fall or at least remain the same.
